Program Timeline

Year 3: Tongji University

You first apply for the admission to the Certificate to Master's Program. You must have a 3.0/4.0 (or 82.5/100, using WES conversion scale for China) cumulative GPA, as well as a TOEFL minimum score of 79 internet-based (iBT) or 550 paper-based (PB); IELTS minimum composite score of 7 (no subject area below a 6); or a Pearson PTE Academic minimum score of 60.

Year 4 (CMP Year): Tongji University

You take online UA ME iCourses (6-12 credits) from China that may be used as credits toward your Tongji BE degree. At the end of Year 4, you receive your BE from Tongji University. In this year, you also apply to the CEEM ME program.

You need to meet both the GRE and English proficiency requirements for the ME program. You also apply to for full UA ME admission, which is contingent upon completing the bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0/4.0 (or 75/100) GPA in graduate coursework completed while in the CMP status.

Year 5 (ME Year 2): The University of Arizona

You come to UA's campus in Tucson to finish all remaining courses. Your academic adviser will help you select from a wide range of College of Engineering classes that best suit your career goals.

After Year 5

After fulfilling all ME degree requirements, you receive your ME degree from the University of Arizona. You are entitled to apply for optional practice training, or OPT. You can also apply for doctoral programs at the UA or other universities.

ME Completion

A total of 30 credit hours is needed for the ME degree. Options are available for an MS degree in consultation with UA faculty advisers.

Application

Registration for the University of Arizona CMP in Transportation will open on May 1.
