  • Land subsidence and earth fissures from groundwater pumping 
  • Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) to monitor ground movements
  • Constitutive laws for engineering materials including cemented soils
  • Model based simulation of civil engineering systems
  • Application of numerical methods to engineering problems
  • Static and seismic behavior of soils and foundation systems
  • Retaining walls and slopes
  • Modern communication technologies in engineering education
